REFEREES

The SandStorms are looking for players that can also referee. Please see the criteria below:

Dear Fellow Hockey Referees and Potential New Referees,

As per the IIH and league guidelines, the basic requirements for being a SandStorms referee are set as follows:

• Be a very good skater
• Be in good physical condition
• Possess good hockey sense and a good knowledge of hockey rules and referee mechanics
• Be available to referee when called upon or at least one game/week
• Attend your assigned games as scheduled or advise if unavailable at least with 48 hour notice
• Have an attitude to learn and improve
• Be professional at all times when on duty
• Be at least 14 years of age
• Attend a SandStorms referee clinic

In return, we promise to provide you with an opportunity to develop your skills and with at least one or possibly two written on-ice evaluation per year as well as the game fees.
